San Francisco, CA (April 12, 2024) A collision in San Francisco claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Thursday afternoon, April 11th. The fatal accident took place on Interstate 80 at the Highway 101 interchange right around 2:30 p.m. The collision occurred with another vehicle in the southbound lanes, according to reports.
A motorcyclist was riding along Interstate 80 in San Francisco on Thursday afternoon. As they approached the Highway 101 interchange, a white SUV suddenly struck the motorcycle. The force from the impact knocked the rider from the motorcycle and he landed, hard, on the ground. The damaged motorcycle rolled for a bit, before falling over in the middle of the southbound lanes of Interstate 80.
The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene, along with paramedics, and found the motorcycle and the rider on the ground. Paramedics rushed to the victim’s side, prepared to use life-saving measures, but the motorcyclist had already succumbed to their injuries. Sadly, they were pronounced dead at the scene and officers called for the coroner.
The motorcycle had to be hauled from the scene and investigators gathered evidence and spoke to the driver of the SUV involved. Officers are determined to figure out what exactly led to this fatal collision on Interstate 80 and who is liable.
