Los Angeles, CA (April 12, 2024) A hit-and-run crash in Los Angeles claimed a man’s life on Thursday, April 11th. 37-year-old Leonardo Palomar Sanchez tragically lost his life that day. It all happened at the intersection of Harcourt Avenue and Adams Boulevard at approximately 11:30 p.m., according to reports. A woman in the third vehicle was also injured in this terrible accident.

It was late Thursday night as vehicles traveled through the West Adams area of Los Angeles. As vehicles approached the intersection of Adams Boulevard, a speeding vehicle came driving down the road. In the 4800 block of Adams Boulevard, the speeding vehicle hit another car, causing the driver to lose control. The victim’s vehicle went off the road and crashed into a building, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the collision, stopped at the scene, but got out of the vehicle and fled on foot, according to witnesses. A third vehicle was also hit during this collision, officers said, making it a chaotic scene.

The Los Angeles Police Department arrived at the scene and found the three cars, all with damage. Officers hurried to the vehicle that had crashed into the building and found the driver unresponsive. Paramedics did everything they could but, unfortunately, the driver, identified as Sanchez, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman who was driving the third vehicle involved sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital via ambulance to receive treatment.

Officers called for two trucks to come to the scene. The car that crashed into the building had to be removed from the scene. The vehicle abandoned by the suspect was also towed from the scene. Investigators are determined to find the suspect who fled on foot and bring him or her to justice. Anyone who has any information regarding this accident is encouraged to call the LAPD.
