Franklin, TN (December 17, 2023) A bicyclist was killed in Franklin, Tennessee, near Mack Hatcher and Liberty Pike. Officers arrested 23-year-old Hidalgo Orozco Denilson from the state of Washington, for DUI, among other charges.
Officers with the Franklin Police Department received the call about a bicyclist versus vehicle accident. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and paramedics rushed to the cyclist’s side to give medical aid. Sadly, the cyclist was killed in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, Hidalgo Orozco Denilson, displayed symptoms of intoxication following the accident. Officers determined that Denilson had been under the influence and he was arrested at the scene. He faces charges of driving while under the influence as well as vehicular homicide, according to authorities. He is being held on a $400,000 bond.
Police officers are still investigating this accident to try and determine what exactly happened near Liberty Pike and Mack Hatcher in Franklin. They hope to understand what caused this fatal accident and bring justice to the cyclist’s family.
