(Acton, California) Motorcyclist John Williams,45, was identified today following the Antelope Valley vehicle crash involving a truck that occurred yesterday at the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway.

According to California Highway Patrol, the two vehicle crash was reported at approximately 6:15 p.m, just north of Sierra Highway. The Los Angeles Examiner’s office pronounced William dead and his residency was not disclosed.

Two traffic lanes were temporarily closed and a major traffic jam occurred but all lanes reopened at approximately 9:20 p.m. yesterday.

Perspective on the Northbound Antelope Valley Freeway Crash

We only know so little about the fatal collision, so we can only assume based on what we know. It’s possible that the truck driver or motorcyclist may have violated traffic speed laws or the lane rules.

If those two were violated by one of them, investigators may review California Vehicle Code 22350, which prohibits driving above the reasonable speed limit, like for example driving too fast on a freeway when traffic around you is driving just 30 mph due to rain.

Under this law, it is also prohibited to drive at a speed that can endanger other people. This is very common, especially with sports car drivers going above the speed limit that can put others to harm including themselves.

For example in recent news, a car influencer named James Wehr, crashed into a tree while driving a 2019 purple McLaren. The vehicle erupted with fire including Wehr and his passenger, Lexi Kramer near Culver Drive and Deerfield Avenue in Irvine.

If the truck driver was traveling the wrong-way by driving over intermittent barriers, divided by at least two feet, investigators may review California Vehicle Code 21651 which specifically prohibits drivers from doing that.

Advice to the John Williams Family

To the family of John Williams, navigating your grief can be straining and difficult to deal with which is why it’s important to reach out to family and friends, or a counselor in receiving mental and emotional support. If you need any additional information about the collision, you can contact California Highway Patrol for informal documents.
