Fresno County, CA (May 10, 2024) A fatal collision on Highway 41 in Fresno County left residents saddened on Thursday night. It seems a vehicle collided with a semi-truck, just south of Fresno, resulting in the vehicle being pinned under the semi-truck. Officers reported that there was one person who did not survive this traumatic accident.

The semi-truck and the passenger vehicle were both traveling along Highway 41, when they suddenly collided in the northbound lanes. The force from the collision sent the passenger vehicle under the semi-truck until it couldn’t go any farther and stopped. It was wedged beneath the semi-truck, causing the vehicle to be completely smashed and shredded. The California Highway Patrol received the 911 call and hurried to the scene.

Upon arrival, they found the vehicle lodged under the semi-truck in a heap of wrecked metal and busted glass. They rushed to the vehicle, fearing the worst, and found one person who had been killed in this traumatic accident on Highway 41. Sadly, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene and called for a coroner. It is unknown, at this time, if anyone else was injured in this fatal accident.

Officers had to close a portion of the northbound lanes of the highway at South Avenue so investigators could work the scene. The vehicle had to be removed from beneath the semi-truck and hauled away. Officers are working to piece the puzzle together and determine what caused this traumatic semi-truck collision on Highway 41. They also plan to determine fault in this accident and are looking at every piece of evidence they could find. Crews cleaned up the glass and debris that was left behind by the accident before the lanes of the highway were reopened to motorists.
