(Wilmington, CA) One person was killed in an Anaheim Street accident Saturday night, March 28, after a two-vehicle crash that left multiple others critically injured.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded around 10:10 p.m. to 2523 E. Anaheim Street near the Valero Wilmington Refinery. Investigators said two vehicles collided in an industrial area under circumstances that remain under review. Emergency responders arrived and found several victims trapped or seriously injured.

One person who had been trapped in a vehicle died at the scene. Authorities have not released that individual’s identity. That information remained unknown as the investigation continued.

A woman believed to be about 40 years old was ejected from a vehicle and transported to a hospital in critical condition. Two others were also trapped, including a 35-year-old woman who required extrication before being taken to a hospital in critical condition. Officials have not said what led to the crash.

Overview On The Anaheim Street Accident

When a serious two-vehicle crash results in ejections and trapped occupants, investigators review traffic laws to understand contributing factors. These reviews focus on speed, vehicle control, and occupant safety without assigning fault prematurely.

Because a person was ejected from a vehicle, officers may examine the Seat Belt Law. This law requires drivers and passengers to wear properly fastened safety restraints. Ejections often increase the severity of injuries in collisions. Investigators may consider whether seatbelt use played a role in the outcome.

If speed is a factor, authorities may review the Basic Speed Law. This law requires drivers to operate vehicles at speeds that are safe for roadway and traffic conditions. Industrial areas at night can present visibility challenges and reduced traffic control. Investigators may evaluate whether speed contributed to the severity of the crash.

When vehicles collide and occupants become trapped, officers may also consider the Unsafe Turning or Movement Law. This law requires drivers to ensure any turning or movement can be made safely. Sudden or unsafe maneuvers can lead to severe impacts. These factors may help explain what led to the Anaheim Street accident.

    What the Family Can Do

If you have a loved one involved in this crash, staying in contact with investigators can help you receive updates. You can request official reports when they become available to better understand what happened.

You may also consider speaking with a qualified attorney who can explain your options. In addition, support from family, friends, and medical professionals can be important during recovery.

If you have any concerns about navigating the legal process surrounding this incident, call 866-883-4318 to speak with a lawyer.
