Legal Analysis on the Cambodia Town Vehicle Crash
When a collision involves a pedestrian, investigators often review the right of way law codes, and consequences the driver shall face. They may also review law codes in which driving in an unlawful manner contributed to the death
Investigators will likely review California Vehicle Code 21950 given the fact that this law requires drivers to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians when approaching an unmarked or marked crosswalk.
Because the driver didn’t yield to the pedestrian, he or she would face serious consequences under California Penal Code 193.5 for violating basic road laws. This may result in the driver to face two to six years in state prison.
