(Fresno, CA) Two people were hospitalized Friday night, November 21, following a Weber Avenue collision involving three vehicles in northwest Fresno.

According to the Fresno Police Department, a California Highway Patrol unit came across the crash just before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Weber and Valentine Avenues. The CHP later transferred the investigation to Fresno police, as the incident fell under their jurisdiction.

Investigators said one driver appeared to have caused the crash when their vehicle collided with two others. Paramedics took that driver to a local hospital with minor injuries and was evaluated for suspicion of driving under the influence.

First responders also transported another driver involved in the collision to the hospital for treatment of pain-related injuries. The third driver did not require medical care.

Fresno police did not release any additional details. They are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the Fresno Police Department at 559-621-7000.

Overview on the Weber Avenue Collision

When alcohol or drugs are suspected in a traffic crash, several California laws are reviewed. The Driving Under the Influence Law makes it unlawful to operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Even minor impairment can significantly affect a driver’s judgment and reaction time, increasing crash risk.

The Reckless Driving Law may also apply if investigators determine that excessive speed or dangerous maneuvers contributed to the collision. This statute prohibits driving in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property.

Finally, the Right-of-Way Law governs how drivers must yield to prevent collisions at intersections like Weber and Valentine Avenues. Determining whether one of the involved motorists failed to yield appropriately will be a key part of the investigation.

    Support for the Injured

If you or a loved one were injured in the Weber Avenue collision, stay in contact with the Fresno Police Department’s Traffic Bureau to obtain a copy of the official collision report once it becomes available. This document can clarify fault and assist with any insurance or legal matters that follow.

It may also be helpful to consult a personal injury attorney experienced in DUI-related crashes to explore your rights to compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

Lastly, prioritize recovery and well-being. Local rehabilitation services, counseling programs, and support networks in Fresno can help accident victims and families cope physically and emotionally after a traumatic crash.

If you have any concerns about navigating the legal process surrounding this incident, call 866-883-4318 to speak with a lawyer.
