(Gardena, California) At around 7:55 a.m., officers received a report on a driver who struck a pedestrian on the 13200 block of Western Avenue.

The officers found the pedestrian in an unconscious state on the roadway. Los Angeles Fire Department Personnel treated the individual and took him to a hospital where the individual later died.

The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured and the identification of the deceased individual has not been made available.

Opinion on 13200 block of Western Avenue

There are two laws that investigators may want to review in this collision if the individual was in the wrong or not. Accidents and Accident Reports code law, 20001 and Pedestrians’ Right of Duties law, 21950. These two codes can help investigators determine what the pick-up truck did not follow in this case.

20001(a) states the following that if a vehicle accident includes a serious injury or death to another person, you should stop and follow the required rules in 20002, and 20004.

In regards to punishments if a driver of a vehicle doesn’t follow (a) could result in an imprisonment at a county jail for three to four years (a) (1). You can also stay in a county jail for no more than 90 days. This an important code in regards to the pick up truck sense it matches his potential violations.

Investigators may also look at the Pedestrians’ Right and Duties code law, 21950 (a). One of the requirements is that a driver of a vehicle should yield the right-of-way to pedestrians crossing an unmarked/marked crosswalk at an intersection unless otherwise. In regards to this case, this may be one of the following of what the driver violated before police went into search of the driver that fatally struck the pedestrian.

    Advice for the Family

If you have lost a loved one in this incident, staying in contact with the Los Angeles Fire Department Personnel can help you receive more information from the investigation. You can request official reports when they become available to better understand the circumstances.

You may also consider speaking with a qualified legal professional experienced in pedestrian accident cases. They can help explain your options and guide you through next steps. In addition, seeking support from family, friends, or grief counseling services can provide comfort during this difficult time.
