    Car Collision Leaving SR-79 to Shut Down

    (Tucson, Arizona) Yesterday, a collision occurred involving multiple vehicles in SR-79. A number of injuries resulted from the collision.

    Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed that the road was closed at 9:45 p.m. 

    Arizona Department of Transportation also confirmed that the collision occurred near milepost 103.

    Overview on Florence and Catalina Car Collision

    Because the collision is still under wraps, we can only assume a few things that one of the drivers or multiple, violated. Investigators of this case may review code law (28-730) and (28-661) to help identify what violations the person (s) at fault caused and what requirements they had gone against. 

    If the vehicles were in close distance with one another which caused the collision,  investigators may review code law (28-730) (a). This code discusses one of the following,  that a driver of a motor vehicle should not follow closely than is reasonable and prudent as well as considering the speed of other vehicles, condition and the amount of traffic.

    In regards to injuries involved in this collision,  investigators may review the following violations in code law (28-661). (A) discusses that a driver that caused an injury or death should (1) stop close or at the scene but make their way back to the scene of the collision. (2) The driver must stay on the scene until the driver has finished the requirements of section (28-663). One of the following requirements of this section is (1) give the drivers name and address including the registration number of the vehicle the driver is driving. This is if the driver caused an injury, death or damage to a vehicle in a private or public property. This may help determine exactly what the driver went against, especially because the collision in a public space in SR-79.
