    Bicyclist Killed, Vehicle Driver Injured In Jurupa Valley Collision

    Jurupa Valley, CA (April 28, 2024) A traumatic collision involving a bicyclist and a vehicle occurred late Sunday morning in Jurupa Valley. The bicyclist was fatally injured in the collision and the driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries, officers reported. It all happened just after 11:00 a.m on Jurupa Road and reports indicated that the accident also took out a power pole.

    At approximately 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 28th, a bicyclist was riding along Jurupa Road in the 10500 block. For reasons still unknown, the bicycle collided with a vehicle, according to reports. The collision was so strong that the driver lost control after hitting the bicycle and struck a power pole in the area as well. The impact sent the bicyclist flying, landing on the road Several feed away. The bicycle was completely smashed and destroyed. It laid on the ground several feet from the rider, in a heap of dented and broken pieces.

    Emergency crews arrived at the scene and paramedics with the Riverside County Fire Department located the bicyclist on the ground. They hurried to the rider’s side, ready to give life-saving measures, but there was nothing they could do. The biker had been killed in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. Sadly, officials at the scene covered his body with a tarp and waited for the coroner to arrive.

    Paramedics then found the vehicle involved in this collision on the side of the road with major damage. It had obviously crashed into the power pole, officers reported. They found the driver trapped inside the vehicle and special tools were used to free the driver. They had sustained serious injuries in the accident and were in need of immediate medical attention. Paramedics carefully placed the person on a stretcher and loaded them into an ambulance. The driver was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition.

    Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department are working to determine what exactly caused this deadly accident in Jurupa Valley. They also hope to determine who was at fault. Southern California Edison was seen at the scene working on the broken power pole, according to reports.
