Palmdale, CA (August 11, 2024) Residents of Palmdale are waking up to sad news this morning. A multi-vehicle collision on 47th Street East claimed a motorcyclist’s life and left two others with injuries, officers reported. The accident occurred near Avenue S and involved four vehicles and a motorcycle, according to reports.

As vehicles drove along 47th Street East, a motorcycle and four other vehicles collided. The cause of this collision is still unknown, according to investigators. The multi-vehicle collision left the four damaged vehicles blocking the roadway and left a motorcyclist on the ground. Reports indicated that the motorcyclist was thrown nearly 50 years from the scene during the collision.

Emergency personnel arrived and found the rider on the ground, motionless. Paramedics approached, ready to begin life-saving measures. Sadly, they found that the motorcyclist had been killed in the collision and they pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officers checked the four other vehicles involved in this collision and found two others with significant injuries. Paramedics transported them to Antelope Valley Hospital in critical condition.

Officers began investigating the scene and are working to determine what caused this multi-vehicle accident in Palmdale. They are also working to determine who was at fault. Once the initial investigation had been completed, tow trucks arrived at the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway. The motorcycle had to be hauled away on a flatbed truck, reports indicated. The roadway was left covered in glass and debris and crews worked as quickly as they could to remove it all.

Update: The victim has been identified  as 27-year-old Vincent Gahret.
