Rialto, CA (June 27, 2024) A Tragic accident occurred in Rialto that claimed a man’s life on June 9th. 59-year-old La Verne resident, Roger Norris, was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a wrong-way driver on West Valley Boulevard. Norris was rushed to a hospital, where he later died, officers reported. The fatal collision happened just after 5:30 p.m. between Riverside Avenue and Willow Avenue.

It was June 9th in Rialto, California, as vehicles drove along West Valley Boulevard. 59-year-old Roger Norris was riding his motorcycle, heading east, around 5:30 that evening. 48-year-old Monica Granger was driving an SUV west on the same road, according to reports. The motorcycle and SUV approached each other in the 200 block of West Valley Boulevard. Suddenly, Granger’s SUV veered over the double yellow lines and into oncoming traffic. Norris had no time to react as the SUV appeared directly in front of him. The two vehicles collided, head-on, throwing Norris from his motorcycle.

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found Norris on the ground with life-threatening injuries. His motorcycle was dented and broken and laid several feet from him, surrounded by debris. Paramedics quickly began performing life-saving measures on Norris as they loaded him into an ambulance. He was rushed to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center to receive emergency treatment. The emergency medical team at the hospital did everything they could, but his injuries were too severe. Roughly 30 minutes after he arrived at the hospital, Roger Norris was pronounced dead.

Granger remained at the scene following the fatal collision and was arrested. Officers booked her into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga where she faces charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
