Salinas, CA (November 21, 2023) A bicyclist was killed on Monday night, November 20th, when they were struck by a vehicle on Blanco Road in south Salinas. The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. at La Mesa Way.
Initial reports indicate that the bicyclist was riding down Blanco Road when he was struck by two different vehicles. The California Patrol said he was struck by a Jeep Compass and then a Mercedes sedan.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene but the bicyclist was already deceased. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name is being withheld until his next of kin can be notified of this accident and their passing.
The California Highway Patrol said they do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in this collision. They are currently investigating to determine what exactly happened on Blanco Road in Salinas. The drivers of the Jeep and the Mercedes remained at the scene and cooperated with officers during their investigation.
The motorcycle had to be removed from the scene and there was some debris that crews had to clean up, following the investigation.
