VAN NUYS, CA (NOVEMBER 9, 2023): The Los Angeles Police Department is searching for the vehicle responsible for a fatal hit-and-run in Van Nuys late last month.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crashed occurred on Monday, October 30th around 11:40 p.m. in the area of Van Nuys Boulevard and Delano Avenue. A vehicle was traveling southbound on Van Nuys when it fatally struck a bicyclist crossing Delano heading south.

The bicyclist became trapped under the vehicle upon impact, and the driver continued south on Van Nuys Boulevard for more than a mile with the victim trapped underneath. The Los Angeles Police Department reports the victim only became dislodged after the vehicle made a left heading south on Burbank Avenue.
The vehicle then continued south toward Hatteras Street, and made no attempt to stop.
On Thursday, the Los Angeles Police Department released a video revealing a description of the vehicle, described as a newer-model silver or gray Toyota sedan.
Emergency personnel arrived in the area shortly after the collision, and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene. His identity has not been released as of yet.
Authorities continue to search for the vehicle responsible for this incident. The Los Angeles Police Department will investigate the cause and surrounding circumstances of this fatal Van Nuys hit-and-run.
