Capistrano, CA (November 9, 2023) – At least one person was reported injured on Wednesday, November 8th, after a serious multi-vehicle pileup on Interstate 5 in Capistrano, California. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident took place just before 8:45 a.m. in the area near Crown Valley Parkway.
Authorities report that an unknown number of vehicles were involved in a chain reaction rear end collision on Interstate 5. Among the vehicles hit in the accident were a white Lexus and a black Mercedes which were found on the right shoulder when officers arrived on scene. Additional cars were blocking the right most lane, but officials were able to clear these cars from the roadway.

Paramedics were called to the scene and police reports confirm that at least one individual sustained injuries in the crash, but specifics about the number of victims or their condition have not been released. Tow trucks were also dispatched to the scene to clear at least the Lexus, which had been rendered undrivable in the crash.
The pileup on Interstate 5 in Capistrano is still under investigation by authorities.
