Modesto, CA (October 30, 2023) A woman riding a bicycle was killed on Friday, October 27th, when she collided with an SUV, according to the Modesto Police Department. Authorities said the tragic accident occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. near Graceada Park.
It happened at the intersection of Park Avenue and Needham Street in Modesto. A Modesto man was driving an SUV west on Needham Street and, at the same time, the woman on the bike was riding along Park Avenue. According to authorities, the driver of the SUV didn’t know which direction the bicyclist was heading and the two collided.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene to assist anyone who was injured. Paramedics rushed the woman to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later died.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene after the crash and cooperated with authorities. He was not injured in the accident. The Modesto Police Department said there is no evidence of drug or alcohol use in this collision.
Officers are currently investigating this collision to determine what exactly happened and who was at fault.
