(Las Vegas, Nevada) Broderick Brunlinger, 35, was arrested in connection to the hit-and-run accident that occurred on Monday night on North Nellis Boulevard, south of Stewart Avenue.
Preliminary investigation showed evidence through surveillance footage of Brunlinger driving a 2023 Genesis GV60 striking a 44-year old male pedestrian who was traveling across Nellis Boulevard on an implied or marked crosswalk and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brunlinger fled the scene with a minor passenger in the vehicle. Both the minor and driver were not injured following the crash but Brunlinger was arrested and taken to the Clark County Detention Center on relevant hit-and-run charges.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and investigation is still ongoing.
Legal Analysis on the North Nellis Boulevard Crash
Because the driver fled the scene after striking the 44-year-old, investigators may review (NRS) 484.010 which requires drivers to stay on scene when involved in a crash that resulted in death or injury. If one violates this law they would be guilty of category B felony and imprisoned in a state prison with a minimum of 2 years or a maximum term of 20 years and a fine between $2,000 to $5,000.
