(Parker, Colorado) Chase Brown Murphy,18, is now facing serious charges after killing his bestfriend in a vehicle Crash on Mainstreet and North Motsenbocker Road.
According to court documents, Murphy most likely drove between 95 to 104mph before causing the fatal crash. The deceased teen was identified as 18-year-old, Talon Gustafson. Gustafson died in the crash just as he was ejected out of the vehicle. Gustafson was Brown’s best-friend according to his friends.
His girlfriend, Cece Elsmore, was planning to meet him at McDonalds. Gustafson ended up not showing up when she arrived which gave her a gut feeling that something was not right. She then located him at Mainstreet and Motsenbocker Road with police officers already at the scene. According to police, Murphy also struck another vehicle but the driver was not hurt at all.
Elsmore told CBS News that Murphy’s vehicle then hit a tree and caused the vehicle to roll-over two to three times.
Murphy was taken to the hospital, and when he was cleared, he was immediately arrested with charges of speeding and recklessly driving and vehicular homicide as well. The Parker Police Department is investigating this case.

Because the driver was driving with a speed of 100 mph, investigators may have reviewed (CRS) 42-4-1101 to which prohibits driving over the reasonable speed limit. If Murphy was driving under the influence which is common in speeding accidents, investigators may have reviewed (CRS) 42-4-1301 discusses driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, which would be considered a DUI and a misdemeanor.
