(Mesa County, California) California Highway Patrol confirmed that the deceased driver of a Subaru Outback who hit a white Ford F-150 vehicle last month was an intentional act.
Mesa County Coroner investigators found out that the 32 year old Subaru Outback driver had a blood alcohol content of 0.235 which is nearly three times more than the legal limit.
The crash occurred July 10th when the Subaru driver was driving in the eastbound lanes the wrong way near Utah State line in Mesa County. The driver then hit an F-150 vehicle head on. The Subaru driver then died following the crash.
Six people in the F-150 were injured and had to be taken to the hospital due to their serious injuries. The passengers also included a 10 year old and 13 year old. Although, it has not been confirmed what kind of injuries they endured.
Perspective On Crash Near Utah State Line
There are many laws that investigators may want to take a look at. In this case there are two laws that relate closely to the situations that may help investigators in terms of the driver going against the required rules and the violations that may have played in the collision. One law they may review is California Code, VEH 23152, California Code, VEH 192, and California Code, VEH 550
Mesa County Coroner Investigators may have reviewed the California Code, VEH 23152 to find out the illegal amount of alcohol in blood in regards to driving a vehicle. In (a) of the code, it states that it is unlawful to be under the influence of any alcohol beverage.
In regards to the illegal limit of alcohol in blood, they may review (b) stating that it is unlawful for someone to drive with a 0.08 percent of alcohol in blood. Driving while under the influence can give you a lack of judgement in safety. You may not be aware of a vehicle crossing on your left or right shoulder. You may even disobey traffic control devices. This affects other people’s safety including yours.
Since this was an intentional act, investigators may review California Vehicle Code, 192 to identify the specific violation the person went against. They may have viewed (3) of the law which states one of the following violations in driving a vehicle for financial gain to which it results in a person’s death in connection with violation stated in (3) of subdivision (a) of section 550.
