(Los Angeles, CA) Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who fled the scene of a deadly Venice Boulevard accident.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Dec. 6 near Venice Boulevard and Malvern Avenue. Investigators said a silver 2008 to 2010 four-door Chrysler 300 sedan traveled eastbound on Venice Boulevard when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities did not release the victim’s name, age, or city of residence. That information remained pending notification of next of kin.
Police said the driver did not stop after the collision and continued eastbound. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man between 50 and 60 years old who was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and glasses. Detectives believe the Chrysler may have a non-working driver’s side fog light and darker paint on the driver’s side door.
The LAPD’s Central Traffic Division released surveillance images of the suspect and vehicle. A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the identity, arrest, and conviction of the driver. Investigators urged anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant information to contact authorities.
