(Huntington Beach, CA) A Pacific Coast Highway accident resulted in the death of Eric John Williams, 45, of Garden Grove, and two others were seriously injured Monday morning, October 20, involving a vehicle and multiple bicyclists, according to city officials.
The crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Beach Boulevard. Huntington Beach police received reports of a car, driven by Amber Calderon, 43, of Long Beach, striking three cyclists, said Public Affairs Manager Corbin Carson.
By the time authorities and paramedics arrived, they pronounced Williams dead at the scene. Two others were taken to nearby hospitals with serious injuries. Calderon remained at the collision site and cooperated with investigators. Carson said there are no outstanding suspects and that officials are examining whether alcohol, drugs, or other factors may have contributed to the crash.
Police closed southbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway at Beach Boulevard during the investigation.
