    Vermont Avenue Hit-and-Run Injured One in Los Angeles

    A pedestrian was injured when a dark-colored sedan struck them at a marked crosswalk in a Vermont Avenue hit-and-run in Los Angeles.

    (Los Angeles, CA) On Wednesday, October 1, at about 10:10 p.m., the Vermont Avenue hit-and-run near the University of Southern California left a pedestrian injured as officials worked to secure the scene and determine what led to the crash.

    According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred when a dark-colored sedan struck a pedestrian at a marked crosswalk at Vermont Avenue and 36th Street. The driver drove off without stopping to help. when paramedics arrived, they transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Doctors treated them for their unspecified injuries.

    Upon investigation, authorities gathered surveillance footage, sharing it with the public on social media to help generate tips. The City of Los Angeles is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification of the driver. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact LAPD Officer Cha at 213-458-3472 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.

Furthermore, California’s Basic Speed Law, mandates safe driving at all times based on conditions.
