(San Diego, CA) a 13-year-old girl suffered major injuries in a Babcock Street crash in the Black Mountain Ranch neighborhood of San Diego.
On Sunday, August 10, at about 9:20 p.m., the Babcock Street crash occurred. According to the San Diego Police Department, it happened on the southbound lane of Babcock Street at Paseo Del Sur.
When police investigated, they learned a 13-year-old girl rode an electric motorcycle on Babcock Street. Meanwhile, a 16-year-old drove a Toyota pickup truck on the northbound lane. While making a left turn, the driver struck the girl.
By the time police arrived at the Babcock Street crash site, they found the girl suffering a fractured right femur. Officers did not suspect driving while under the influence to be a factor of the collision. Reportedly, though both vehicles faced a circular-green signal light at the same time, the driver of the pickup violated the girl’s right of way.
