Monterey Park, CA (October 24, 2023) – One man was sadly killed on Monday, October 23rd, in a tragic car accident on Pomona Freeway (60) in Monterey Park, California. The fatal two-vehicle collision took place at approximately 11:24 p.m. at the intersection with South Atlantic Boulevard.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the accident, finding two wrecked vehicles: a gray Toyota Camry and a large box truck. The vehicles were blocking the westbound lanes of the freeway. The circumstances leading up to the crash are unknown at this time.

The responding officers located at least one seriously injured individual. Paramedics were rushed to the scene to treat the injured man, but the injuries were too severe and he was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown if additional injuries occurred. The serious accident required major cleanup, with debris and broken glass covering the roadway. Tow trucks helped to remove the damaged vehicles.
