Bellflower, CA (May 14, 2024) An early morning collision on Friday, May 10th, left one person with serious injuries. It all happened when a pickup crashed into a semi-truck trailer on the 91 Freeway in Bellflower, not far from the 605 Freeway. It all resulted in a fiery blaze that left the pickup driver seriously injured.

A semi-truck with a trailer was heading along the 91 Freeway right around 6:00 a.m. on Friday, May 14th, when the big rig suddenly stalled in the eastbound lanes. A black pickup truck was traveling at a high speed in the same lane as the semi-truck. When the pickup finally realized the semi-truck wasn’t moving, it was too late to react. The pickup crashed into the back of the semi-truck trailer and the pickup then caught on fire, reports indicated.

The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. They could see the blaze of fire coming from the pickup as they quickly approached the scene. Firefighters hurried to extinguish the flames and then checked on the driver of the pickup, who was still inside the vehicle. The driver was alive, but seriously hurt, according to reports. Paramedics carefully removed the driver from the cab of the pickup and loaded them into an ambulance. The sirens were turned on and they hurried to the closest hospital so the victim could receive immediate care.

The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured and told officers what they knew, following this accident. Officers investigated the scene and are diligently trying to figure out what exactly happened. A two truck had to come and remove the pickup which was completely damaged in the collision.
