      1 Dead & Another Seriously Injured In Wasco Crash With Semi-Truck

      1 killed and another seriously injured in a collision with a semi-truck in Wasco.

      Wasco, CA (February 2, 2024) A life was taken too soon on Thursday, February 1st in Wasco, California. Sadly, a woman was killed in a collision with a semi-truck in the area of McCombs Way and Scofield Avenue. This deadly accident left another person with serious injuries, according to deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Department.

      Deputies arrived at the scene and found a severely damaged Toyota Corolla and a semi-truck with damage. Paramedics rushed to the Toyota where they found two victims, both with life-threatening injuries. Emergency personnel noticed that one of the women was dying. They did everything they could to save her life, but she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

      The second victim was found in critical condition, but still alive, authorities said. Paramedics carefully moved them from the driver’s seat of the Toyota to an ambulance while giving them medical care. They were then rushed to a local hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

      The driver of the semi-truck wasn’t injured and remained at the scene following the accident. They cooperated with authorities as they investigated the scene, deputies said. Investigators are diligently working to determine what exactly happened at this Wasco intersection that cost a woman her life.
