(Riverside, California) Charges may be filed for Jesus Perez Salcido after allegedly hitting two people using his motorcycle just outside of a warehouse.
According to the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, at 10:20 a.m., Salcido accelerated into a crowd of people striking two of them on Krameria Avenue, near Bundy Avenue. The two victims have not been identified.
The incident occurred when Teamster Organizers protested at the Amazon distribution center. The protesters were calling out Amazon employees to walk out of their job and force a work stoppage. It has not been proven whether the two victims were among them.
Sgt., Dave Tinker confirmed that the two individuals were taken to a regional trauma center with minor injuries but are in stable conditions. Salcido was not hurt before being taken into custody.
Amazon confirmed that the Teamster protest did not cause the incident. It is unconfirmed if some of the amazon workers joined the distribution or it was just union activists.

If Salcido gets filed with charges, investigators may first review California Code, VEH 22352, California Code, VEH 23152, California Code, VEH 188, and California Code VEH 22350. These laws discuss violation in speed, driving under the influence, and attempting murder to another human being.
Investigators may review VEH 22352 to determine if the driver violated the speed laws. This law requires drivers to drive 15 mph when it comes to poor visibility of an intersection. VEH 22350, requires drivers to not drive above the reasonable speed. Because Salcido was accelerated through the crowd, he may have sped through unlawfully. This may help investigators to determine whether the driver would be charged in regards to speeding.
If the driver was driving under the influence, investigators may review the BAC percent of alcohol allowed while driving. According to VEH 23152, it is unlawful to drive a vehicle while under the influence of 0.08% or more of BAC. This is an important factor if the driver’s percentage of alcohol in blood was recorded. Four of these code laws can help investigators learn about the violations made by the suspected motorcyclist.
