San Diego, CA (October 11, 2023) A pedestrian sustained serious injuries on Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in the Point Loma Heights neighborhood of San Diego. The San Diego Police Department reported that the crash occurred right around 10:00 p.m.
Authorities said a 67-year-old man was driving a 2001 Buick Century east on West Point Loma Boulevard, according to Officer John Buttle. At the same time, a 60-year-old woman was walking north across the same street, near Chapman Street, when she walked right in front of the Buick.

She was taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for a fractured left ankle, facial fractures, and internal bleeding. Buttle said her injuries are considered life-threatening.
The driver of the Buick stopped and cooperated with police officers. Drugs and alcohol were not factors in this accident, according to Officer Buttle. The San Diego Police Department’s Traffice Division officers are investigating this collision.
