(Hollywood, CA) A Sunset Boulevard hit-and-run involving a stolen Range Rover resulted in the death of Linda Pine early Wednesday morning, November 12.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers from the Hollywood Division were called at about 12:32 a.m. to the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Wilton Place. Investigators said Pine drove a white Mazda sedan north on Wilton. At the same time, a Range Rover traveled east on Sunset, striking Pine’s vehicle moments later.
Firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and attempted to free Pine, but pronounced her dead at the scene. Debris was scattered across both sides of Sunset Boulevard following the crash.
The Range Rover’s driver fled on foot and remains at large. According to reports, the SUV had been reported stolen prior to the collision. LAPD officers closed the area for several hours as they investigated. Anyone with information is urged to contact the LAPD Hollywood Division.
