(Garden Grove, California) A 63-year-old man was struck by an SUV on September 29th in Chapman Avenue, just west of Euclid Street in Garden Grove.
According to the Garden Grove Police Department, officers responded to reports regarding the crash involving the pedestrian at around 3:48 p.m. Responding officers arrived at the scene and rendered medical assistance to the man. Shortly after, the Orange County Fire Department Paramedics arrived at the scene, they transported him to UCI Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives assigned to the Neighborhood Traffic Unit.

If the driver violated this code by disregarding others safety, investigators may review California Penal Code 192. This law code discusses that driving a vehicle in the commission of an unlawful act, not amounting to felony, with gross negligence; or driving a vehicle in the commission of a lawful act which might produce death, in an unlawful manner, and with gross negligence would be considered as Vehicular Homicide.
Under California Penal Code 193, the grey sedan driver may likely face serious punishments for the death of the e-biker by imprisonment at a state prison for two to six years if proven to have committed vehicular homicide.
