Sunnyvale, CA (October 8, 2024) A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision on Bayshore Freeway (Us 101) in Sunnyvale. It happened on Tuesday morning, October 8th, 2024, around 6:43 a.m., south of Ellis Street. Officers reported that the accident involved multiple vehicles, but no other injuries were reported.
It was early on Tuesday morning as vehicles drove along Highway 101 in Sunnyvale. Suddenly, several vehicles collided in the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes of the highway. It started when a black Subaru hatchback collided with a motorcycle, according to reports. The California Highway Patrol reported that six vehicles were involved and a Cybertruck was blocking traffic on the highway.
The Mountain View Police Department arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist on the ground with life-threatening injuries. Officers issued a SigAlert and closed a portion of Highway 101 as paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to a local hospital to receive treatment. There were no other reports of injuries in this collision.
Investigators began working the scene in an effort to determine what exactly happened to cause this chaotic collision on Highway 101 in Sunnyvale. They are also trying to piece together who was responsible for this collision. Vehicles had to be towed from the scene and crews worked as quickly as they could to remove glass and debris from the roadway.
