    Highway 101 Crash In Cotati Leaves Motorcyclist Injured

    Cotati, CA (July 23, 2024) A collision on Highway 101 in Cotati, California, sent a motorcyclist to the hospital. It occurred on Monday, July 22nd, just before 11:00 a.m., near the Gravenstein Highway off-ramp, according to reports. Initial reports indicated that the motorcycle collided with another vehicle in the No. 1 lane of the highway.

    It was late Monday morning in Cotati as vehicles traveled along Highway 101. A gray sedan and a motorcycle were both driving along the No. 1 lane of the highway, according to reports. The two vehicles collided, for reasons that are still unknown, and reports indicated that they may have hit two other vehicles. The force from the impact sent the motorcyclist flying through the air. They landed near the center divide of the highway, along with their motorcycle. The gray sedan came to a stop in the middle of the highway and officers reported that two other vehicles were also found near the center divide, following the accident.

    The morning air was suddenly filled with sirens as emergency vehicles made their way to the scene. Officers raced to check on everyone involved, starting with the motorcyclist, to see if anyone was sin need of medical attention. They found the rider on the ground near the center divide, injured, reports indicated. Paramedics at the scene placed the motorcyclist on a stretcher and loaded them into an ambulance. They were taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for unknown injuries.

    Investigators took statements from those involved in the accident, as well as witnesses at the scene. Tow trucks were called to remove the motorcycle and at least one other damaged vehicle from the highway and a small field of debris had to be cleaned up along the scene on Highway 101. Officers are working to determine what caused this collision in Cotati and who was at fault.
