(Long Beach, California) Monday, July 6th, Gerardo Mejia died after a driver ran into him while riding his bicycle near Cowles Street and Santa Fe Avenue, leaving him with blunt force injuries.
Police confirmed the incident happened around 2:35 am in the morning. It occurred when the vehicle turned east to Cowell Street from Santa Fe Avenue, striking Mejia and left him. When police arrived, he was found lying on a sidewalk.
