Hemet, CA (October 26, 2023) – A young boy was injured on Monday, October 23rd, after being involved in a bicycle crash on Mayberry Avenue in east Hemet, California. The fateful accident took place around 9:20 a.m. at the intersection with Meridian Street.
According to reports from local news and the California Highway Patrol, the boy was riding his bike to nearby Dartmouth Middle School about half a mile away. When he came to the intersection in question he may have failed to yield properly at the stop sign. That was when a vehicle traveling south on Meridian street collided with the boy. It initially appeared that the driver had fled the scene, but officers found him nearby ready to cooperate.

Paramedics from Hemet Fire Department responded to the scene and provided some aid to the boy, who had sustained minor injuries, but determined he did not need further treatment. The identities of those involved have not been disclosed at this time.
The police are continuing their investigation into the bicycle crash on Mayberry Avenue.
