(San Mateo, CA) An Alameda de las Pulgas exit crash resulted in the death of Yina Marcela Ramos Bello, 30, and her two children sustaining serious injuries in San Mateo.

On Thursday, July 31, at around 6:17 p.m., the Alameda de las Pulgas exit crash occurred. According to the California Highway Patrol, it happened at the Alameda de las Pulgas exit from Highway 92.

When authorities investigated, they learned a Ford exited the eastbound 92 Freeway off-ramp. After running a red light at Alameda de las Pulgas, it slammed into Yina Marcela Ramos Bello’s Prius. She traveled northbound on the street on a green light at the time of the collision.

By the time paramedics arrived, they pronounced Bello dead at the Alameda de las Pulgas exit crash site. Her two children, a 5-year-old boy and 7-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital in critical condition. First responders transported the driver of the Ford, a man, to a hospital with minor injuries. It was unclear why the Ford driver ran the red light, but police confirm he was not driving under the influence.

Bello’s family set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses as well as hospital bills for her sons.
