Fresno County, CA (February 19, 2024) It was early on Sunday morning as two vehicles traveled towards each other on State Route 180 in Fresno County. It was right around 5:30 a.m. when two vehicles crashed, head-on, because one vehicle was going the wrong way, officers said. One of the people, identified as 30-year-old Victor Soto Orocio, did not walk away from the accident.
It was still dark outside as the two vehicles approached each other, the road dark except for headlights. Near George Smith Road, one of the vehicles drifted into the opposite lane and hit another car head-on. The early morning was filled with tires squealing and metal colliding as the two vehicles crashed on the highway.
Emergency crews hurried to the scene and found that two people involved had managed to get out of the vehicles, but one victim was still inside. Paramedics discovered that Orocio had sustained life-threatening injuries and rushed to give them life-saving treatment. Unfortunately, he did not make it and was pronounced dead at the scene.
