    Three Injured, Power Knocked Out In Citrus Heights Crash

    Citrus Heights, CA (June 26, 2024) A chaotic accident occurred in Citrus Heights on Tuesday, June 24th, that not only left three people injured, but also knocked out power to over 1,000 residents. The multi-vehicle collision occurred around 2:00 p.m., north of Twin Oaks Avenue, on Sunrise Boulevard, according to reports.

    Traffic moved along Sunrise Boulevard in Citrus Heights on Tuesday afternoon, just as it did every other afternoon. Suddenly, several vehicles collided, but authorities are still not quite sure what exactly happened. A street sign was knocked down during the accident and a power grid was also affected. Reports indicated that the collision knocked out power for other 1,000 residents in the area.

    Fire fighters and paramedics with the Sacramento Metro Fire District received the call and made their way to the scene. Upon arrival, they found several vehicles with damage, all in different areas of the roadway. A street sign had been knocked down and the area was without power. Officers with the Citrus Heights Police Department had to close the southbound lanes of traffic on Sunrise Boulevard. Traffic began to back up as authorities worked as quickly as they could to help those who had been injured.

    Three people were found with significant injuries following the collision, officers reported. Paramedics at the scene transported all three to a nearby hospital to receive treatment. The severity of their injuries have not been disclosed. The scene became busy and crowded as officers gathered evidence and authorities worked to restore power. Tow trucks were called to remove at least one of the damaged vehicles from the roadway and crews worked as quickly as they could to clear the area of debris. Officers are determined to learn what caused this multi-vehicle collision in Citrus Heights, as well as who was responsible.
