Redding, CA (March 20, 2024) A drive along Rancho Road took a turn for three drivers on Tuesday, March 19th. A multi-vehicle collision near Sheena Lane left one person with serious injuries, according to authorities. The accident happened right at 4:00 p.m. in Redding and it all began with a Redding Electrical Utility bucket-style struck.

It was a sunny afternoon in Redding as vehicles drove up and down Rancho Road. A 2005 Ford Mustang was heading east as a Redding Electrical Utility truck came up behind it at a high rate of speed. The truck slammed into the back of the Mustang, for reasons still unknown, according to officers. The force of the impact sent the Mustang over the double yellow lines and into oncoming traffic where to was hit by a 2012 Chevy Equinox.

The Redding Police Department was dispatched to the accident and arrived at the scene with emergency personnel. They found the three vehicles with collision damage and debris littered the roadway. Paramedics rushed to give medical attention to anyone in need and found the driver of the Mustang with serious injuries. The 69-year-old woman was rushed to a local hospital via ambulance with a fracture in her neck, authorities said. Everyone else involved in this collision sustained minor injuries and were treated by paramedics at the scene.

The Redding Police Department is heading this investigation and gathered evidence to determine what exactly took place on Rancho Road. Crews cleaned up the debris and a tow truck was called to remove the Mustang from the roadway following the investigation. Anyone with any information regarding this accident is asked to call the Redding Police Department.
