Lodi, CA (April 18, 2024) A tragic multi-vehicle crash took place in Lodi on Wednesday, April 17th, claiming one person’s life. Another was arrested at the scene for causing the accident, officers said. It happened near the area of Hutchins Street and Harney Lane shortly after 4:30 p.m.

A 37-year-old woman was driving in the area of Hutchins Street and Harney Lane, along with several other vehicles, in Lodi yesterday. Suddenly, the woman’s car collided with two other vehicles. The details surrounding the accident are still unknown, according to reports. The three vehicles blocked lanes of the roadway and caused traffic to back up following the crash.

The Lodi Police Department arrived at the scene and found three vehicles with damage from the accident. Paramedics rushed to help anyone in need and found one person who was unresponsive. Emergency medical personnel did everything they could, but sadly, the victim did not survive the collision. They were pronounced dead at the scene by authorities and the coroner was called.

Offices investigated the accident and took witnesses’ statements at the scene. Following the investigation, they determined that the 37-year-old driver was the one who caused the accident, although the circumstance are still unclear. They arrested the female driver and she faces felony-related charges, according to police reports.

Officers requested tow trucks at the scene to remove damaged vehicles from the roadway. Glass and debris littered the scene and crews quickly worked to get the roadway clean and ready for motorists again. This investigation is ongoing as officers try to determine exactly what happened to cause this fatal accident in Lodi.
