Temesca Valley, CA (March 7, 2024) Interstate 15 became a scene of chaos on Wednesday night, March 6th, when multiple vehicles crashed. 79-year-old Gene Kittiko of Ontario and 34-year-old Nicholas Lanni of Narco, were killed in this tragic collision and four others sustained serious injuries, according to reports. The chaotic accident took place near Lake Elsinore in Temescal Valley, just after 10:00 p.m.

It was a rainy night in Temescal Vallley. The sky filled with flashing lights as emergency vehicles rushed to Interstate 15 near Indian Truck Trail. Sirens blared as they hurried to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision that occurred in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found that four vehicles had been involved in a collision and were blocking two lanes of the freeway. Initial investigations determined that one of the vehicles had possibly hydroplaned, causing the four-vehicle collision. Paramedics rushed to help anyone who needed medical assistance following this horrible crash. Sadly, they found Kittiko with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, but sadly, passed away just after midnight.

Four other people were injured in this collision. Paramedics loaded all four into ambulances and took them to a local hospital, one of whom sustained life-threatening injuries. Sadly, Nicholas Lanni didn’t make it and was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.

Tow trucks were called to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the freeway and crews worked diligently to clear the roadway of debris, officers reported.

The California Highway Patrol is leading this investigation and are determined to learn what caused this fatal and chaotic collision and who was at fault.
