(Fresno, California) A woman and her two daughters were tragically killed in a three vehicle crash on Highway 99 near Bakersfield coming back from a concert. They were celebrating one of the girls, Kloie upcoming 17th birthday on August 20th. They were attending a concert,  featuring Thee Sacred Souls, La Lom and the Womack Sisters.  

California Highway Patrol confirmed that the collision occurred at around 12:45, north of 7th Standard Road. One vehicle was also traveling north on the southbound lanes when two other vehicles collided with the vehicle. The three family members were on a Honda Accord. The collision caused a fire on the three occupants’ vehicle and died on scene.

 It has not been officially confirmed what vehicle caused the collision. The GoFundPage set up for the three individuals did state that a vehicle crashed into their Honda Accord head-on at high-speed.

The family were identified on their GoFundPage, set up to financially help their surviving brother and son. The son also turns 16 on August 20th. The mother was identified as Vanessa, her two daughters were identified as Kloie and Kylie. 

The Investigation is still ongoing.

Highway 99 Vehicle Crash

Sense speed may have played a factor on this collision, investigators may want to view the California Code, VEH 22350. This code states the following: no one should drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed that is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, traffic on, and surface and width of, highway, and speed that endangers the safety of others and property. 

Investigators may want to also view the specific general rules in speed. They may view California Code, VEH 22349. The following rules of this code (a), except what’s provided in section 22356, prohibited to drive upon a highway that has a speed greater than 65 miles per hour.
