Riverside, CA (November 8, 2023) – 33 year old Hassan Qureshi, from Highland, was tragically killed on Sunday, November 5th, due to a serious pedestrian accident on University Avenue in Riverside, California. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 4:08 p.m. at the intersection with Main Street.
Reports indicate that Jesus Rodriguez was driving east in a silver Honda Civic on University Avenue when he struck Qureshi as he was crossing the street. Qureshi was severely injured by the impact. Rodriguez then failed to stop after the crash, instead fleeing the scene in his vehicle.

Paramedics responded to the scene and promptly transported Hassan Qureshi to the Riverside Community Hospital. Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe and he was later pronounced dead. His identity was released by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
Police arrested Jesus Rodriguez for DUI, felony hit-and-run, and vehicular manslaughter. The case remains under investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
