Witnesses reported that a white Mazda sedan went airborne during the collision. It came to a stop partially on top of another vehicle, according to reports. The collision blocked the northbound lanes and caused major traffic issues in the area.
The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the eight damaged vehicles in the middle of the interstate. Without hesitation, they checked the eight vehicles, ready to give medical aid to anyone in need. They found one woman with serious injuries and gently removed her from her vehicle. She was loaded into an ambulance and taken to a local hospital to receive treatment.
