It happened at the intersection of Brookside Avenue and Fairway Drive, just outside the Beaumont city limits, officers reported. The two vehicles collided around 9:12 a.m. and left two people with injuries, one was in critical condition.

Dispatch began receiving 911 calls about the accident and the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department hurried to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found the two vehicles in the middle of the intersection with major damage. Debris and glass littered the roadway as well. Paramedics hurried to the vehicles and found two people with injuries. One of the victims had sustained life-threatening injuries, officers reported. The two injured people were taken to a local hospital, via ambulance, to receive treatment.
Officers had to close the intersection for a while so they could investigate the scene. The two vehicles involved sustained major damage and had to be removed by tow trucks. Crews worked as quickly as they could to remove the glass and debris from the roadway so traffic could resume normally. Officers have stated that this accident remains under investigation as they work to determine what caused the accident, as well as who was responsible.
