Kern County, CA (November 2, 2023) – A bicyclist tragically lost their life on Wednesday, November 1st, following a bicycle crash on Sequoia Drive in Kern County, California. According to dispatch for the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident was reported at around 9:34 p.m. at the intersection with Roberts Lane.
The CHP reported that the driver of a burgundy Ford Expedition SUV was traveling toward the intersection at a high speed at the same time that the cyclist was passing through. The Ford driver attempted to avoid the cyclist and lost control, hitting the bike and then flipping onto its side.

The bicyclist was severely injured in the crash. Paramedics responded to the scene to provide medical aid to the bicyclist, but sadly their injuries were too severe and they passed away at the scene.
Police are conducting an investigation of the bicycle crash on Sequoia Drive, including whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
