San Diego, CA (June 21, 2024) Two speeding vehicles caused a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 8 in San Diego on Wednesday, June 19th. The collision left at least one person with injuries and caused a second accident, officers reported. It all happened around 2:15 p.m. and, by the time it was all over, four vehicles had been involved.
Initial reports suggested that a red sedan and a silver pickup truck were both speeding along Interstate 8, when they collided. The impact from the collision sent one of the vehicles off the off-ramp before it crashed into the center divider. The red sedan was reportedly stopped in the middle of the freeway, following the accident. Both vehicles’ airbags deployed, as well, reports indicated. Suddenly, a pink Toyota Supra couldn’t stop in time and slammed into the off-ramp barrier in an attempt to avoid hitting the two damaged vehicles. A pink Porsche also swerved and crashed into the side divider of the freeway. Smoke began to rise from the engine of the Toyota, officers reported.

Emergency personnel hurried to the scene with sirens wailing. They found the four vehicles in different locations on Interstate 8 and began searching for anyone in need of medical assistance. They found at least one person with injuries and paramedics transported them to a nearby hospital, via ambulance.
