Los Angeles, CA (November 6, 2023) One person was injured on Sunday evening in a collision between a train and a vehicle in Los Angles, according to authorities. The crash took place at the intersection of South Long Beach Avenue and East 54th Street just before 7:30 p.m.
A Blue Line Train was barreling down the tracks on Sunday evening when he struck a vehicle on the tracks. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman, Brian Humphrey, told City News Service that the crash forced the vehicle to overturn and one person became trapped inside.

Fire fighters used special tools to safely remove the person from the vehicle. Paramedics carefully loaded them into the ambulance and rushed them to a local hospital for treatment. The victim was said to be in serious condition. Another person asked paramedics to evaluate them, but refused being taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Officials said the train remained on its tracks, in an upright position. However, the collision left the Metro Blue Line traffic in both directions near the crash site, temporarily blocked. Train passengers were given alternative traveling arrangements through Metro Blue Line.
A tow truck was called to the scene to load and remove the overturned and badly damaged vehicle. Crews had to clean up debris and glass from the scene and finally, investigators worked to try and determine what extactly happened at this railroad intersection in Los Angeles.
