(Downtown LA, California) Last week, a woman now identified as Violeta Castillo, was fatally shot by a suspected bicyclist in Downtown LA.
The shooting occurred on August 27th at the intersection of South Towne Avenue and East Sixth Street. Violeta Castillo suffered a gun wound to the head and was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to LAPD, the shooter left the scene with a motorcyclist, traveling north on South Towne, reported by a witness.

They may specifically review (1) which states that manifesting deliberate intention in killing a living creature is malice. They may also review California Penal Code, 187(a) which states the definition of murder of unlawfully killing another human being.
California Penal Code 189 (a) may also be reviewed which mentions the following violation in discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle is first degree murder. This is an important factor due to the motorcyclist discharging a firearm and shooting Castillo on the head. His action relates to the violation which can tell us that he may be charged with first degree murder.
Filing a Wrongful Death
Families of Violeta Castillo can file a wrongful death against the motorcyclist. This can financially help her family if she was the primary source of income. This code states one of the following eligibility of filing a wrongful death. Under (b) (1) of California Code of Civil Procedure 377.60, if the individual was dependent on the deceased person, spouse of, children of spouse, or even parents, can file a wrongful death.
Under California Code of Civil Procedure 377.6, Ones filing for wrongful deaths can potentially be awarded damages in all circumstances of the case. It may not include the revocable damages in Section 377.34.
