San Diego, CA (July 17, 2024) A fatal accident between a vehicle and a bicyclist occurred today in Carmel Mountain Ranch.
California Highway Patrol has reported that the crash took place a little before 9:30 a.m. on Ted Williams Parkway. A Dodge Ram pickup truck collided with a bicyclist who has been identified as 66-year-old Karl McNutt.
Authorities responded to the scene located at the intersection of state Route 56 and Interstate 15.
McNutt reportedly made a left turn into another westbound lane and collided with the front of the Dodge pickup truck. He was ejected from his bicycle and struck the right side of the windshield before falling onto the roadway. The driver stopped to try to help and called 911. Paramedics rushed McNutt to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.
